George E. Day
General Facts
Born: September 21, 1864, in Dana, Massachusetts *
*First settled in the mid-18th century, Dana became a separate town in 1841 but was among four towns disincorporated, leveled, and flooded by the damning of the Swift River in 1939 to create the Quabbin Reservoir that today provides water to millions of people in the Commonwealth.
Died: October 31, 1919, at the age of 55 in Fort Myers, Florida while engaged in YMCA work during World War I
Wife: Nettie M. Fisher Day (1868-1937)
George and Nettie were married on June 30, 1897 in Lynn, Massachusetts.
Children: Curtis F. Day, Emily A. Day, and Jane C. Day Vardaro
