Description

The Association Training School Notes was published from February 1892 through July 1897 after which it was replaced by the Association Outlook and eventually the Association Seminar. Originally conceived as a monthly publication devoted to the general interests of the International YMCA Training School, now Springfield College, community as well as a medium of communication between the school, its former students and the students themselves, the publication describes events at the school, including board meetings, sporting events, special events, and faculty and staff work and news. Also included are updates provided by alumni, personal advertisements and announcements (wedding, jobs, etc.), annual reports from the corporation and the college president, updates by the departments, school catalogs, listing of students, graduation announcements, and articles written by professors. This page from June, 1893, highlights Lyman Archibald's athletic prowess in the pentathlon at the annual field day, where he finished in third place.
