Title

St. Stephen YMCA Gymnasium

Description

This is a photo of the St. Stephen YMCA Gymnasium, one of the oldest gymnasiums created after the creation of Basketball. A truly remarkable space, the gymnasium was part of a Railroad branch in St. Stephen, New Brunswick. The room has changed very little since 1893, when Lyman Archibald brought the game of basketball to the town, Tin ceilings, dimmer switch, peek hole, and, of course, the original floor boards are still in tact.
